Individual Project

Intended to reflect a strong sense of community, connection, and well-being, the brief for 15 William Street called for a new post-graduate training facility for Swinburne University to support the further development of creative individuals.

The future-focused multidisciplinary space aims to foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture through communication and innovation. Committed to creating change, the goal is to reimagine the current educational space with one that is flexible, adaptable, and considerate of both the user and social issues.

Heading back to in-person study and work means renewed interactions and new expectations. After feeling confined to our homes for the past few years, individuals are craving new and exciting spaces for social interaction, learning, and working.

Swinburne’s new post-grad training facility redefines this notion of being ‘boxed in’ by combining elements of the traditional campus and typical office environments with engaging and wellness-specific elements. This space offers students a place to connect, learn, and unwind while minimising the sense of confinement we have all experienced during the pandemic.
